I really don't have a clue what to do with the grid?
A hint please?

If you talk repeatedly to one of the people in the main room (or second room maybe, can't remember and don't want o lose my current progress), they will give you another piece.

You need to position the pieces on the grid (Z to select a piece, then Z again to drop it into a new position) so that you can move between squares that have a dot or other shape in the middle. The dots represent doors to new rooms.

Is there a way to move upwards into the grid? it seems that you can only move down

Xpets said...

never mind i figured it out

I am so to speak 'at the bottom of the labyrinth' but when I match the figure on the grid nothing happens. I receive no new pieces.
Any help please?

great game!

@anonymous, extra pieces should have appeared to the left of the match diagram once you do the match. Note that you need to make user no extra pieces are on the grid (use the area to the right to store unused pieces)

Another malevolent spirit has been vanquished!

I left my extra unused pieces on the grid and it still worked.

I'm terrifically stuck with four fountains discovered/unlocked and ten pieces to move. I don't have the second horizontal piece needed to match the puzzle in F7, and I don't seem to be able to access anywhere new with the pieces I have (including the space indicated by the wall clue). Looping around the sides of the map doesn't appear to be helping. Any hints?

Have you met back up with monks?

Lightly, thanks again!
I'd forgotten to move the unused pieces of the grid.

What do you do with the paintings? Cactus, Tree, Snowflake, Mountain, Moon?? Pretty sure I need that piece down there to get to N3!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Forget it. Figured it out!!

Anonymous said...

GAH, got it. I was missing something obvious about the F7 puzzle. Thanks!

What do you mean 'something obvious'?
I'm also stuck at this level.

How to reach N3?

Anonymous said...

This is really frustrating.
I can't reach the sixth fountain (on the right side of the grid), not enough panels to go there.
And how do I reach N3?!!
Five fountains are active now but I'm really stuck!
PLEASE help

You have to go through the bottom and left side of the map to come out at the top right, then go down to N3. It's possible. I finished the game.

Hm...Can't quite see a way to get to the secret-secret room. Have beaten the game at this point, but still trying to figure out the path for that room on the first ?-1. Thought I had it, but the path only got me to M-1, which wasn't far enough...

Anonymous said...

Correction, as far as L-1

Anonymous said...

After a bit more testing, while have not reached the room, if it is on layer 1, it must be either J-1 or K-1

Anonymous said...

I'm missing something really obvious. How do you fix the fountains? I've tried throwing the wi-- holy water on the figure in the room, the altar, etc. and nothing happens.

Anonymous said...

Finally got to it, it's K-1 is the room

you need to convince the spirits to unseal the fountains, and they all have different ways of being convinced. it's important to make sure you read dialogue thoroughly!

This one was interesting. I had a little trouble getting started. I was basically stuck after accessing the second room with a door, until I realized the torches in that room were a puzzle that was solvable at that point, after which I had a better idea for the game style and was able to play through to the end without much difficulty. There are a few timed puzzles in the game which I'm not a big fan of, but the timing wasn't too bad and I was able to get through them after a few tries.

I do not get it. I fall down, enter the room with a map, in which I am supposed to reshuffle the labyrinth. But no matter what I do, the layout does not save, and when I open the map or exit the door, the labyrinth stays the same. I am confused

Completely frustrated here. Easy going until I had 4 fountains turned on; now I can't get anywhere else useful. It looks like I need the 2nd horizontal bar tile, but where is it?

Anonymous said...

Turns out this game isn't the only one with secret rooms...there's one in the Scorched Tower as well. Wonder if that means there is one in the 4-Serpent temple too....

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure how, but I managed to finish the game without one of the panels. It took me a while, though.

Finally got the sixth fountain, the sadness one where the ghost is sobbing. Apparently, you need to kneel next to her and keep kneeling for 5 or so seconds. Also, for some reason the layout was not saving on my chrome browser, had to switch to firefox for the game to work

Can't get started, got to first room after intro, every time I try to save a layout for the labyrinth it doesn't save it and doesn't change the layout. Playing on firefox.

I really enjoyed this game! I had to come back to it a second time after getting stuck on a casual playthrough because I needed to give more careful thought to the puzzles.

(I had gotten stuck at the swinging ball and chain; since I usually use a trackpad rather than a mouse, I wasn't sure if it was possible to get the ball to swing as far as you need it to, but if you stand directly under it, you can get it going fast enough by hitting it at both ends of its arc even if you only have a trackpad.)

It's neat that the game has you venture into situations you're not sure you can return from until you find new tools or information you need. By the end, the ability to fast travel kept the game fun, as it would have gotten tiresome to have to keep navigating the dungeon to check which ghost was in which room.

I also really liked the overall look and sound of the game.

This was an unexpected surprise! I remember the previous game in this series and its unique puzzles, and this one is no exception.

The labyrinth was a really cool mechanic and added to the feeling of exploration. I was confused at first because it's impossible to move up in the grid and some fountains are impossible to reach in the beginning, but as you progress through the game, these issues are resolved. I also liked how each spirit had to be persuaded in a different way. The Joy spirit stumped me the longest because I initially thought I was supposed to extinguish all the candles, but I eventually figured it out.

Glad all those people in the tomb are free now :D
