betta room [browser]

Can you solve all the puzzles to escape from Betta Room by Migulia? Don't forget to closely examine your inventory by dragging things around.

Very nice, very nice indeed.

Nice game,
And some nice puzzles.

I only didn't get the move the Fish hint.

Anybody what the lines suppose to mean?

Bart said...

For the fish/lines hint: vertical lines mean pull right or left side (the side with the corner or not), horizontal lines mean pull bottom or top side (side with the corner or not).

Nice one. We got it without help, but a few puzzles were satisfyingly difficult.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't get the key to the safe to work. I'm almost certain I'm doing it right.

Never mind! I should have examined the object a little more closely!

Thanks Bart.

I didn't noticed it.
I kind of brute forced it using the lines as hint.

Nice kitty.

Good level of difficulty for me, I found the puzzles mostly logical.

The only one I think I don't understand is the last safe. I think this is spoiler-free, I got the pattern right, but only a particular rotation of the pattern worked? Why that one and not others?

Well done, though. Nice clean graphical style.

OK, apparently I went through the exact same process as @Megan_Pearce (17:27). Got it now.

What are some hints for the last safe? The one with ABCDEF. I don't understand the rotation of letters on the tool.

OK, hope I'm not mixing up puzzles, but if I remember right:

The tool has letters that are missing (never printed? Rubbed off? Something like that). You can fill in the missing letters because they follow the pattern you see in the letters that are present. There's a mark on the tool on one end, the letters that are along that mark (after you mentally fill in the missing ones) are the ones you use.

This game is a textbook example of a perfect web escape room puzzle game
- not too long, or too short
- not too easy, not too hard
- all puzzles are 100% logical and solutions clear once you get the hint
- no pixel hunting
- no bugs
- tons of options for letting the user play how they want (rotation, big/fullscreen, mute, etc)

The only think I would have liked to see was the ability to double-click an inventory item to inspect it, instead of having to select and hit a button. But I assume that's likely due to mobile-first design

Anyways, great game

Good game, did need a hint for the last puzzle, but otherwise, good logic to follow through. A nice variation on the picture nudge with the corner indications being used to good effect.

I did like the 3D interaction on the objects which actually felt quite natural and fitted in with the overall look and feel.

Quite nice - Some thinking needed but not too difficult...
Maybe a little bit short ?

man i love this one, i get its not super economic to make 3d assets for everything but its really fun to actually play with, hope they make more in the style!

Agree with @Anonymous 8:06. Clever, different types of puzzles. Thanks Migulia and Bart!

It might just be me, but I *cannot* open the safe using the shapes from the back of the fish picture frame. After I understood that they are to be determined by looking at the back of the picture (as opposed to having the picture facing forward) and using the odd-shaped corner as a reference, the lock mechanism would not "come loose" after I turned the cubes to show the correct shapes. I have even watched a walkthrough video and am doing everything "right" but the lock refuses to budge. In the video, the lock seems just to open automatically without me touching it or using the wrench tool, but not in my game. VERY frustrating. Any help?

Still feeling all alone and still trapped in the Betta Room Escape Game since I posted as "Anonymous" above on October 2nd at 18:14.... Thinking I might sample-taste that betta in the framed picture to fill my growling stomach, as I haven't come up with any brilliant ideas about how to open the turning-cubes lock using the corner symbols.... I guess I betta just continue sitting here and hoping that something betta comes along - and that I don't turn into fish food! Any help out there? Thanks....

@Anonymous to open the lock mechanism use the indication on the scratch card. From that code you know you have to look at the back of the fish and the odd corner should be in the top right corner, so the code is: plus plus hexagon square star. As soon as you form the correct code the lock will open itself. (Maybe there is a bug if you form the code in another order? I started at the plus and ended with the star).

Hello Bart! The code you provided is the same as the one I (unsuccessfully) tried previously - and the same as in the walkthrough video. I decided to start the game over from scratch and this time - voilĂ ! - it worked like a charm. "Click" went the lock and shortly afterwards, "click" went the locks to the box-in-the-floor and then the outer door! I'm free! Thanks, again, Bart for all the great games you've created and all these other games you let us know about here on your blog!
