So after a few minutes, I thought this game was pretty weak. After a couple more minutes I was hooked...so hooked I had to quit and come back when I have more time. :-)

Controls on this game suck. Left it and probably won't come back.

once you get past the first couple of screens, it becomes a pretty robust exploration game. i feel like every time i get stuck and am about to give up, i find a new passageway! that said, i'm about an hour in and have only found 14 hearts :'>

@Anon 04:21: I'm almost exactly where you are, although I probably found different hearts so far. Did you get the one in the Tower of Love? That was really, really hard. I even did it twice to look for secret passages, and man, it did not get easier. Looking for the way into the main part of the dark fortress to the right of the Rainbow Bridge, and how to get the heart that's high up in the city area. Anybody got any clues?

Wow, what a game! Like others, I thought it was simple, but it turned out to be a great world to explore, and I couldn't rest until I found all the hearts.

One thing that helped me immensely was finding the map on the wall of one of the in-game rooms. Have you seen it yet? When you do, take a screenshot of it, and use it to mark the places you've been. You'll be able to figure out which rooms connect to which other ones that way.

Nat R., in order to get into the main part of the dark fortress, you will need to find a tunnel from the icy portion of the game, one screen left of where the save spot is. The tunnel is in the room with only four blocks to stand on over a pit that drops you back into the mushroom area. You need to get on top of the top-right block in that room to find the tunnel.

You can't get the heart in the city area from that side; you have to approach it from the other direction. Have you found the looping vertical drop that cycles through the colors of the rainbow? (It's shown on the map as the leftmost column.) There are several exits from that area on both the left and the right sides of the screen. Exploring them should open up a lot of new areas, and one of them should lead you to that heart.

I can't get off the 2nd screen, but it seems like I'm missing a good game. Any hints?

Nevermind, I found the passage at the upper right of the 1st screen.

Ah, thanks Nathan. I thought I'd explored all the exits from the Rainbow Drop, but I guess not... I remember being frustrated by that blue room too, because I just knew there was a secret passage but I couldn't find it. I also still haven't found the actual large map; I was using the statues' mini-maps to navigate, which was very difficult. I'll keep an eye out for that.

Also, I think people deserve help with the Tower of Love (heart block area). You can control how high you jump based on how long you hold the button, and for lots of those jumps, you can't jump too high or you'll hit the ceiling and won't make it as far. One of them I could only make by jumping straight up and then using the bounce to get over. For the last one, I had to tap ever so briefly. Don't waste your time looking for secret passages in there (except the exit), I'm pretty sure it's a lost cause.

Finally finished it! I had actually found the entire Crimson Castle area, which is what Nathan Kibelbek assumed I hadn't found, it was just one of those secret passages that I hadn't gone all the way down. Typical...
I was drawing my own map before I encountered the map room (which was very helpful), and that map explained something that confused the heck out of me spatially: the Rainbow Drop doesn't line up with both sides the same way. It's an intentional imperfect loop. Weird!
The bounce-jump is also very handy in the pastel candy/Lego area with the fall-away pit. Finally, the secret to getting into an area you haven't visited is often to find a different way into a room you have visited.

hey, nat! i'm the anon from 4:21. sorry i couldn't help you out at all, but congrats on finishing! i actually just did both of the things you talked about above. the tower of love destroyed me, but i got the heart :''> thanks for the tips regarding the jumping on that one! haven't gotten to the map room yet but. hopefully soon.

Struggling to get past finding the first heart- help please!

Hi! Sorry to bother, but I'm struggling with the Mirror Zone. How to get past the mirror wall to the right of its entrance, and past the large block two areas to the left? Thanks! :D

Anonymous said...

Okie, now I've gotten past the mirror wall... now I just need to get past that hallway afterwards... that thing is evil -v-

OK! Now all that's left is the heart over the big mirror block, and the one under the Crimson Castle bridge. Any suggestions? (Sorry for spamming!)

Found the in-game map of the rooms but having a hard time reading the map/connecting the save points....HELP!!

Yes! I wasn't sure I'd be able to find them all, and even after locating the last heart it took me a while to figure out how to get there. What a good game, finished in just under 3 hours of playtime. Thanks for sharing!

I made a screen shot of the map room and then colored in the squares with a rough color code using MS Paint, to keep track of the rooms/areas. I needed the map to find my last heart (Lonely Island).

This game was just a bit too twitchy in some spots. It was more about getting lucky on some of the jumps than it was about practice, skill, or strategy.

Overall it was fun. Thanks Bart, and thanks Sylviefluff!

If you're having a hard time orienting on the map, just start with the rainbow drop. It's obviously the left column on the map.

Can someone tell me at least where on the map is the room with timer/hearts we've collected? Still having difficulty figuring out where I need to go

Found a video walkthrough ha ha....all good now

woo finally finished!! took me about 4 hours to collect all the hearts, but taking the time to make/fix the map super paid off. thanks for the awesome game, sylviefluff, and thanks you for sharing, bart!! :>

Hey, I'm not sure if anyone has noticed yet, but pressing down while on a save point will transport you to another (random) one! Might be helpful for getting around quick -v-

Finally finished it! (3:24) Super good game... I'll stop spamming now :P

There is no "game" to speak of. It's pretty to look at, but I can only find one room, along with a "secret passage" that goes absolutely nowhere. So, essentially, I'm stuck with two rooms, and nothing else.

This would be better on pointlesssites.com. Because it couldn't be more pointless if it tried!

Bart said...

There is much much more to the game than those 2 rooms X, try exploring the top right of the first room.
