A mandarin orange appeared - that's how far I got - and stuck. Anyone take pity on me? Still haven't done anything with cat either (and boxes in front of panda) I've asked too much!
Anonymous -- put the orange on the rice cakes -- from playing point and click games I've learned that this is a traditional Japanese New Year's dish: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kagami_mochi.
If you haven't put the rice cakes down yet, they go on the pedestal in the water (I think, haven't played the game too recently so might not remember it right).
How do I find ending two of two?
the second ending: don't put make-up on the cat, but just give it to the mouse.
