Good sliding-block puzzle. Visuals are so flashy that it almost feels like one of those cheesy advertisements instead of a real game. Only complaint is that the "Success" animation delays things.

Danny B said...

This is a reboot of my all-time favorite online game. Hope he keeps adding levels like the original had because it just keeps getting better and better.

James Newcombe said...

Hello! Yes, many, many more levels to come!

Reese said...

Adding sound effects, music and a mute option for both would also be a nice addition in the update to the game because it feels kinda odd playing this without any sound.

James Newcombe said...

Sound is on my to do list.

James Newcombe said...

@Steven Miller, you can now press enter to skip the success animation.

I remember a Flash build of this that I was absolutely obsessed with back in 2012; I slowly worked through every level over the course of months

So I'm really glad that this made the transition to modern browsers (and perhaps whatever new content), it was really great fun

Anonymous said...

One thing: progresses appears to be tracked in terms of "did you complete the level in the minimum number of moves?"

Such a thing may be a nice bonus, I guess, but it's really weird that it isn't tracking "Success"

Anonymous said...

Or nevermind, it doesn't seem to be about minimum moves... but there seem to be some curious bugs about whether or not success is logged; I'm only getting it after replaying a level 2 or 3 times

Anonymous said...

Bug report: I suspect that pressing enter to skip the success animation is somehow preventing "success" from being logged

James Newcombe said...

Oh yes, my mistake!

James Newcombe said...

Fixed.

I'm not sure if this is related, but the "locked packs" dynamics seem to broken

I'm currently 100% on the first two packs, and started automatically playing the third pack... but quitting pack to the main menu, the third pack is now once again locked

(Also great job with the quick patch!)

Anonymous said...

Reloading the save file fixes this problem, fwiw...

Anonymous said...

I'll take a look at that unlocking pack problem soon. Thanks for letting me know.

Anonymous said...

@James Newcombe, thank you so much for this game, one of my absolute favorite games ever, when I discovered it again, you made me one happy camper for sure :-) Waiting for many more levels to come. G., a true fan of yours :-)

I am very much in agreement with Danny B and Anonymous at 14:36. I always loved this game and I love it still. Looking forward to the fiendishly hard levels that I know are on their way.

Anonymous said...

I expected someone to mention that the levels were too easy.
There is not much choice in what way to go most of the time.
Plus some things appear or disappear at the end of a level.
Since there was way to know when or where I just stopped planning.

Anonymous said...

I'm having trouble with steel prison and golden handshake.
Any subtle hints?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous at 16:01 - For Golden Handshakes, you need to move a push block ahead of you when you change "rooms". Which one is Steel Prison?

Anonymous said...

Phew managed to complete it all - very nicely done game, challenging but with good guidance so never felt overwhelmed.
Thanks for the Golden Handshake tip Anon
For the Steel Prison you need to make your way around it anti-clockwise, and make sure you set the second push block up to be in the far top right corner before you start working the right had side

James Newcombe said...

Hello. Thanks for all the comments. I'm still working away on the next update. Had some problems getting sound into the game, but I think I'm over the hump now. More levels are on the way.

Anonymous said...

That's fun. And I finished it :-)

James Newcombe said...

Riiiiiiggghhhhttt! Things have changed! Cyadonia has a new home https://cyadonia.com/ The co.uk site still works, but I won't be updating it anymore. I've left it up so you can get your profile and copy it over if you want. So come over to cyadonia.com and enjoy the new pack of levels!

Bart said...

As requested by James I have now changed the link in the post from cyadonia.co.uk to cyadonia.com, cheers!

Anonymous said...

Lost my saved game when the site moved :(

Anonymous said...

I started over on the new site and was almost done with the new pack and today my save was gone. :(

James Newcombe said...

I hear some of you are losing your game progress, sorry about that. To permanently save your profile, on the profile page, select your profile then click the COPY button. Then you can paste your profile string into a text editor, like NOTEPAD or WORD and save it. Then you can restore your profile by copying the string and clicking PASTE on the profile page and pasting it in. That way your game is always saved. Just remember to re copy your profile whenever you've made more progress.

If you want to recover your profile from the co.uk website you can still access it here

www.cyadonia.co.uk/cyadonia_old.html

and then click COPY as described above.

Hope that helps.

Ugh!! Got all but the diamond mining.. Any hints I can get the one block to go down into the 3rd slot without hitting the mine?! Glad to see you back on here, James, with Cyadonia.

James Newcombe said...

Thanks! On Diamond Mining, you need one pushstop at the very top, and you can use the tops of the red pipes sticking out to move the bottom pushstop. You also need to make use of the glue patches. Dunno if that helps!

James Newcombe said...

I've been working away on more levels. Coming soon. Do you prefer harder levels or would you like more easier ones?

Anonymous said...

Harder!

Anonymous said...

i enjoy the balance of easy and hard right now, so i'm not sure if i'd like it more difficult.. some levels in locks and keys are devilish

James Newcombe said...

A new pack of Cyadonia levels is available called "The Ball Pit". Who can get to 100% completion first? And.... go!

Anonymous said...

A good (quite big) amount of hard levels would be nice! Thanks for all your work, James. It is much appreciated. G.

James Newcombe said...

A big amount of hard levels are on the way! I'm also planning to make some more easier ones to boost player confidence.

All I have to do is complete the twin keys level and done with that section.. Any tips to figure out how to solve that one would be awesome

James Newcombe said...

Twin Keys: you can't do one key and then the other as I'm sure you've already worked out. You need to move both towards the locks together. At one point the keys should be side by side, then once above the other.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the new levels James! Just finished them this morning. It was a good mix. I skipped a couple, but went back and got them.

James Newcombe said...

Good stuff! More levels are coming...

James Newcombe said...

Would anyone like to help with level playtesting? Let me know.

Dana said...

I would, James

James Newcombe said...

Hi Dana. Can you drop me an email at james@cyadonia.com

Anyone else want to do some playtesting? Send me an email.

Thanks.

I was thrilled to find this last weekend. I played through the original browser games years ago!
I have finished the current level except "Bonfire." Any suggestions?
Thanks

Anonymous said...

This really needs to keep getting bumped to the top. There's been at least 3 new level packs, maybe 4 since it was first posted so it's like a new game all over again! :)

James Newcombe said...

Bonfire: that's a tricky one to give help on. You just need to get the four balls out, two on each side.

James Newcombe said...

A new pack is up, "Increasing Confusion" and it means what it says!

Anonymous said...

Bonfire: Took me a while to solve this one as well.
Lets name the balls 1 (upper left), 2 (UR), 3(LR), 4(LL)
Fetch ball 1, then push ball 1 LL with the help of ball 2, then without going to the center, push ball 2 UL from LR corner without fetching ball 3. Then push ball 1 to the LL arrow (getting to the UL mine), and ball 2 to the UL arrow (LL mine).
Then repeat the same steps in mirror configuration to destroy the right mines.

Anonymous said...

Gotta say, I don't like the Laser levels. It makes it more of an arcade game, then a puzzle game. Have to slow down and time your shots just right sometimes.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the help with Bonfire, Anon. I tried so many times, including pushing, but did not come upon the solution. Now, finishing up the last two on the newest pack!

Bismuth said...

Stuck on Primary Colours, specifically the green room. Are the + blocks supposed to regenerate when you hit the lowest switch (the one that appears when you hit the switch on the left)? If so then I guess I have a bug because they don't come back for me. If not, then I'm missing something because it seems like you need those blocks to stop in the 2nd-highest row 3 times (once for each arrow and then once to exit) but there are only two blocks.

James Newcombe said...

Hello Bismuth, there was a bug in that room, it's fixed now.

James Newcombe said...

Hi all! I've added a new pack called "Keep On Moving". Hope you like it!

James Newcombe said...

Hello. I've just added a load more levels to the "Keep On Moving" pack. There are some seriously tough ones in there.

Anonymous said...

Stuck on 99% loading

James Newcombe said...

Can you try loading it again?

Anonymous said...

FIXED!
Thank you James.

Anonymous said...

Arrrgh Tower Lock! How on earth can you flip the keys round to get them in the right order to open the locks?!

James Newcombe said...

Blue key first goes left.

Anonymous said...

@James Newcombe - thanks, I get that, but then I end up with the red and blue keys the wrong way round. Love the game, the levels get so frustrating! :D

Anonymous said...

Love the new levels, though they are definitely a step up in frustration! Currently stuck on Gold in the Garden. Seems like it should be simple, and I can get the diamond, but can't figure out how to pace the balls to get back to the X.

James Newcombe said...

That's good to hear!

annominous said...

I am stuck on Titanium. It appears to be impossible to get both cyads to the X.

James Newcombe said...

All I can say is "it isn't". If you want a hint email me at james@cyadonia.com

Siobhán Long's sister said...

This game would really benefit from clear instructions. I've no idea what I'm supposed to be doing in some of the more arcane sections.

Hespetr3 said...

Had to come back to say how much I loved this game. I came back to it several times, didn´t mind playing some levels again, and finally beat it. Looking forward to playing more levels!

James Newcombe said...

Hello. I've added a remap key feature to Cyadonia. So you can customize the keys to your preferences.

James Newcombe said...

Hiya. Haven't posted in a while. There are some new levels up and there is also a new way to view levels in a convenient list. Let me know what you think or if you find any bugs.
