factory balls pc/mac release [news]

Today is the day, after many years of tiny adventures in the browser and on mobile Factory Balls is finally making its debut on PC/MAC in its biggest form yet!
You can now get my logical puzzle game from your favourite store:
Itch.io: download Factory Balls on Itch.io
Kartridge: download Factory Balls on Kartridge
Steam: download Factory Balls on Steam
Factory Balls started as a quirky Flash game with a handful of levels 12 years ago. Since then the game and its sequels became playable on almost every gameportal site. The game already made the jump to mobile platforms, but sadly the browser versions will disappear together with the dead of the Flash plugin... that is why I created this big PC release. So join me in celebrating 12 years of Factory Balls and enjoy the biggest Factory Balls yet!

Great job, Bart. Will definitely download it for MAC. Just one question: Will there be a help section when I get stuck with one level? Thanks & best regards, Markus

That's good news - on the one hand. On the other hand: I pay € not $. So it would be steam for me. I just quit there. No way I'm going back. Looks like you lost a potential buyer. Can't you just put it on Amazon? I'd be the first one to buy.

I already have purchased the Android version of Factory Balls and recently got the update which updated the design and added the "E" levels. Are the levels all the same for this new PC version, or is there a whole bunch of new ones?

I'm going to buy this immediately, thank you for releasing it on steam!

Will you going to be releasing your other games on steam? (sugar, sugar; wheres is cat, or maybe all of your escape games as one pack of games?)

deCarlo:
Even on sites which list their prices in USD, you can usually just pay in Euros, you know?

Bart said...

@Markus Thanks! Sorry,no help function yet, maybe I should add that...

@deCarlo The dollars are just a listing price, you can pay in whatever currency you want ;)

@chefSinger This PC/Mac version is completely redesigned with completely new levels compared to the Flash browser versions of the Factory Balls games, but the levels in the mobile version are the same and also in this version.

@ShevaDecai Cheers :)

@Anonymous Depending on how this goes I might consider a Sugar, Sugar release as well

First of all, I want to say thank you for moving a game away from Flash so we can still play it! There are so many great Flash games I'm going to lose soon, and I wish I could have html5 or download versions of all of them.

Second, that picture is awesome! I love it!

Awesome!

Is there a Linux version planned? I don't have access to a Windows or mac machine :-(

12 years, I feel so old now.
I remember entertaining small relatives with your game.
Congrats Bart, I will recommend it to my grandchildren.

Thanks everyone! <3

About the linux version: I have zero experience with linux that's why there is no linux version now, it's on my todo list to find out it this would be technically possible.

I've played almost all levels in "A" now. Greeeat fun! But maybe - if there's an update once - would it be possible to install a "skip this level"-option or so? Sometimes it's frustrating if you're hanging at one level and want to go on though. ;-)

Starbeamrainbowlabs said...

I'd be happy to help test it :D

Quick question, if the PC game is the same as the Android game with no different or extra levels then why is it £2.60 to buy for PC but £1.79 on Android?

Bart said...

Well the pc version is not entirely the same as the Android version: the pc version now supports 4k screen resolutions and also includes the full (adfree) version of Boo!(factory balls halloween) as bonus levels.
And all of that still for the price that is less than one large cappuccino I believe ;)

Needs a make-your-own-ball mode. Possibly one that generates a code to share with friends so you can challenge others to replicate your crazy balls.

Can you make a blue glowing ball with a smile for me? ☺

And eyes too!

When will be make another color (Ex:Yellow,Red,or Black)

:-P

Kartridge tells me that I need the "Kartridge App to play". I don't have that app and I don't want it.
Itch.io doesn't need an app, but I need either a PayPal account or a Credit Card. I have neither.
Sorry, but if you can't give me a simple account number to transfer the money to (and at $3.99 my trust is almost unlimited) I can't be bothered ... again sorry :-(

Bart Bonte I love your games! They're really challenging to complete the levels the glowing blue ball with a smile and eyes are a reference to my comic: life of an ice cube... it's not for the public just yet. I look forward you putting the
reference in factoryballs. ;)

can you add "back" and "exit" button, because its kinda annoying when you choose the wrong level and cant go back to the menu

Hayden said...

Any way this could be made free?

Alex said...

Is this free too?

Dear Bart,

Just bought factory balls on Steam!
Will you also be releasing Sugar Sugar on Steam? This really is my favourite! It would be a shame to loose them.

This a charming adventure visiting this gaming world. As a game lover I was very interested in
Sugar Sugar. But after clicking on the links embedded on the left side of the page, I found my flash player is block. I can't understand why this happened. Anyway, thank you very much for creating so much entertaining game.
