Nice one! Out in 15 minutes, all by myself.

Straight forward game. Just difficult enough to keep it interesting.
Aaaaand out! No walkthrough needed. Just look everywhere.

Oh, and a happy holiday to everyone!

I agree with previous comments, relatively straightforward. Tricky enough to present a challenge, but nothing illogical. I guess that's why it's worth only one congratulation. =)

I don't yet understand the roses clue and how it helps to open the roses box..

veewee said...

ah, got it now =)

yup, yay! out without any help - hurray!

I can't figure the roses. Hint?

Out.
Nice one - just a little bit more difficult as usual, which made it more interesting...

@PK for roses you need two hints

Peter Schott said...

I'd take another hint about the roses. I just can't figure out what to do next. I see the roses pattern, but if there's something else to do first, I'm missing it. I can't make anything out of the book. The "fire" puzzle seems to need something else solved first. Nothing else seems to want to respond other than the hourglasses and I don't see a rhyme or reason to those at the moment, either.

@a12r13: Thanks! That's exactly what I needed. I was so fixated on figuring out the one clue that I didn't think to pause and look for another.

@Peter: If you have the handkerchief, find something to wipe up. If you don't, look for some shapes nearby; that's how you get it.

Peter Schott said...

@PK - Thanks. Got that, but I'm not hitting the right combination or something. Tried a couple of variants, but it's not quite working for me.

PK said...

@Peter: There are no variants. It's just 123456.

I can't find the clue for the coloured hourglases, anyone hwo has better eyes, than me?

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with the roses. I count them in each "column". I enter that count pressing each button that number of times to correspond to the columns. I tried reversing it. Nothing is happening. I figure this might be because something else isn't done, but I don't know what. The fire puzzle apparently doesn't unlock until you do something first because I tried all combinations there and nothing happened. (nor did I see more clues for it to make sense) The rose box just isn't opening.

(Haven't even gotten to something that would work for the hourglasses yet :) )

@Peter Schott it is much simpler than that... read again PK's answer to you - but you do need the two hints.

@Anonymous 14:41 : look carefully at the hint and at the hourglasses themselves...

I'll bite - what hint am I missing for the roses? I cleaned up the area to see the pattern. I'm just not seeing how to press those 3 buttons to get the box to open. I'm sure it's really obvious, but that obvious pattern is completely eluding me.

@Peter One hint is in the notebook - use the pen. The other one is in the first room : there is a niche with stains which you must clean to see the other hint.
The number of roses is not the number of clicks you need to make...

Peter Schott said...

Hmm - I don't seem to be able to use the pen/pencil. (or maybe there's a pen I need to find) Back to clicking. :)

You clearly need a pencil... if you did not find it, that's your next step.
It is to be used on the notebook.

OK - the roses are really getting to me now. I've found both sets of rose clues, but am not sure how to put them together to make something useful. Super-imposing, adding, subtracting - none seem to make sense. If someone can give another hint, I'd appreciate it. (I know I'm going to kick myself once I see this one - just eluding me right now.)

Peter - There are three buttons that each get pressed two times. What order might those presses be in?

Anonymous said...

@Peter the solution is much simpler than what you're trying.

-k - that was the hint I was needing. I was _way_ overthinking the clues. I appreciate all of the hints. The rest made sense, but that one was just not clicking with me for some reason.

I got the roses pretty quickly. It really helps to have played some of this developer's other games; there are certain mechanics that get repeated a lot. I'm currently stuck on the giant-hourglass box. I can see the four hourglasses, but since there are only two options for each of the eight squares... wait. That's just shading, isn't it? I thought there was gray sand and white sand. Another case of thinking way too hard.

About the HourGlasses,

I got stuck because I didn't notice you need to pick up the fixed Hourglass,
the trick with the other Hourglasses are much later in the Escape.

Ps, To pickup the Hourglass you need to look at to the shelf from below.
