mamono slayer [browser oldie]

For this browser oldie we are returning to 2009. Can you find the legendary blade that will save the kingdom in the cute pixel graphics puzzler mamono slayer by Skipmore? Use the cursor keys to move and the spacebar to access your inventory. You can restore your health by returning to the castle. The game is from 2009 but Skipmore just now migrated it from flash to html5 so it is even working in a mobile browser.

Great little game, but the part with the poison was less than intuitive. Thanks for sharing this oldie with us, Bart!

I'm not even getting how to use inventory items...the space bar gives me access to the inventory, but then I'm stumped..

Sadly the game doesn't seem to work for me, all I get is a black screen. Anyone else have this issue?

I was lost at first, so here are a few key notes (no spoilers!) that might not be obvious to new players:

1. No, you can't jump. Ever.

2. To use an item, press Space, Left/Right to select it, then Space again. Nothing happened? Then this isn't where you use that item.

3. Most things go into holes in the wall.

4. Some ladders and passageways aren't obvious. Pay attention. Look closely.

hmm...it is loading for me, but definitely with some bugs or something..
I just watched the beginning of a walkthrough, and in it some useful ladders appeared, where they don't do that for me! =(
yeah..I'm stuck!

And this is a SPOILER about how to use the POISON:

(ignore the Xs to read it)

akroe, all I get is a black screen as well.

When you have only a black screen:
- are you running an ad blocker?
- are you using Internet Explorer?

If you are still using Internet Explorer it will not be running because it's a html5/webgl game. Internet Explorer is a discontinued series of webbrowser... so I would strongly suggest you switch to a more recent browser, if only for reasons of safety (so not only for webgl support) because it no longer gets updated. So I suggest you switch to FireFox or Chrome, or if you want to stay with Microsoft upgrade to their Edge browser.

I am totally running in circles underground...

Clearly IE is NOT discontinued, or so many computers wouldn't be running it. Are you quite certain that that's the cause for this irritating black screen?

I figured out the bit with the poison ALL ON MY OWN, and I was so proud of myself, but now I'm stuck again. I even got into the room with the dragon, but nothing to do there, can't reach the dragon, haven't got any items, and can't see any more unusual-looking walls like there were in other places. Is the next step to get past that weird box-looking thing to the right? There must be something I'm missing. I liked what I saw up until now, it's very cute!

@Nat R. Trees can be climbed, dragons must be fed,

Nat R. said...

Ah, I wondered about those trees! Thanks, @Unknown, that should make it easy!

Oh no, I feel sorry for the poor green dragon now! What did it ever do to me? If I were a pink dragon, or a boss, I would be mad too. I think the knight should realize the error of his ways at the end and make peace with the "monsters."
