chasm [browser oldie]

The number of new interesting browser games might be smaller than it used to be, that's why I also started posting about mobile and downloadable games. But today I would like to introduce again something new here: browser oldies! I started posting new browser games here on bontegames.com in 2007 but what about all those browser games that were made before that? Well, I will start posting about those forgotten oldies but goodies here too! As a first oldie, enjoy this nice point and click adventure chasm from 2002 by Transience. Can you fix the problem of Chasmton's water supply?

Love this idea! I know there are tons I have missed in the past 15 years, but I wouldn't know where to find them! Thanks Bart!

I remember this one, great puzzle but I'm stuck up pipe D7, the beaver went up the pipe and disappeared.

Same for me, went up pipe E7 and he disappeared ….

There's a missing cut-scene, you're meant to get flushed out of the pipe if you go the wrong way.

so far I can only go up into this space and turn the lever which doesn't seem to bring me any further..=(

Sorry there seems to be a bug in the version I posted earlier where you could get stuck in the pipes without getting flushed out. I have now updated with a correct working link!

Ah, this one brings back memories, but yeah, there was always some bugginess with it, unfortunately.

The first thing I did after discovering Bart's site was to click on the archives link and play every game he ever posted from the start.

@Anon 15:55, he's clearly a platypus.

Wow, I think I made the most detailed diagrams I've ever made for those pipes! While at the telescope, I sketched out the whole system all the way up the dam and traced my planned path to try and make it easier. I'd post my drawings if I could...

I also like the way the game makes you think about the path of the water, like, "Which doors do I have to open/close to turn that wheel?" I think the game could be longer though... For such a short game, it's a fun mental workout!

Any chance you could find the old game S.C.OUT? I loved playing that game and have looked everywhere but can't find it.
(So great playing this game again. I seem to remember the ending being longer in the original version after the platypus makes it home.) Thanks so much!

Thanks Bart!

I love the idea of digging up old (and good) browser games.

This one was a lot of fun - and Australian as well, funny because you don't often hear us use the word "chasm", more likely we'd say "gorge"...? I didn't pick it until halfway through the intro as I didn't recognize Jim as being a platypus at first, but then the twin horrors of warm beer and missing the Grand Final give it away!

Cool throwback- I remember playing this years ago and it was just as fun this time around!
