it's not about the aliens

An arty story driven Unity platformer by Ian Burnette: it's not about the aliens, or is it?

Ctrl key to fire!

Or click to fire
The controls are too temperamental, it is becoming too hard

I agree about the controls, not going to try anymore

I hate Unity player; it makes it so hard to move.

How do you throw grenades?

That was a nice game. Anonymous, @ 03:03, I never figured out how to throw the grenade, and I completed the game, so grenades aren't necessary. They may make it easier. I thought it was a lot of fun and I liked the plot. I especially like that you can't die.

According to the controls, the alien illness must have turned all humans into soap. It's no wonder they vanish...

hold alt and press ctl to fire grenade. Nothing interesting to the left if you avoid the ending. Anyone looked to the right?

Thanks for the hints on how to use weapons... Would be useful if we were told that in the game!

Horrible controls made me stop playing quite soon. The story seemed interesting but really can't play that thing..

Nice game, I liked it! But I have to agree with the previous comments, the controls could have been better.

SPOILER
I also really love how it treats the topic of gender and sexuality. We have a visually non-gendered protagonist. In the game industry, "male" is usually seen as the standard if not marked as "non-male", therefore we're likely to assume that the protag is male. We are told that we are looking for our lover, who turns out to be female, which, judged through the heteronormative standards in our society only strenghtens our assumption for the character to be male. But, slowly we get hints, like "we got married when it was legalized in our state". In the end, we discover the true gender identity of the protagonist. This approach is wonderful, because for once we have a story about a homosexual individual whose story doesn't revolve around their sexuality, yet the sexuality is clearly visible. This quite unusual and we definitely need more things like this! This game made me think about how we perceive sexuality and gender in normative patterns, and this is probably the part I loved most about it! Absolutely wonderful.

Agree with everyone who said the controls were hard to use. I also gave up early for the same reason.

Also, I enjoy reading, but this is supposed to be a game, not a book, right?

I like the "dim the lights button"

Wow, I loved this game. It had an incredible atmosphere. The story was amazing. It ended a bit abruptly for me though; had a lot of questions left to answer.

took a long time but I WON! I couldn't use grenades because I couldn't find the button to press. HAPPY ENDING! YAY!!

The controls were sticky too but I didn't give up.
