linkagedraw

Connect the static parts with the round rotating motors to make the red pen draw exactly over the red drawing in the puzzler LinkageDraw by Masa. If you need a hint for level one, just look at my thumbnail. (note: to disconnect a part, double click that part)

I like the idea but it's just too hard.

JGo3000 said...

Hard doesn't even begin to describe this game...

stuck at 4 :(

Giving up on level 4 :(

Has anyone finished this?

Level 2 was actually easier than 1, and level 3 was my stopping point.

Hard is correct. Wish I knew how to post solution pictures. I have the solutions for 1-4. No time to work on 5 yet.

How to send solutions to Bontegames? I will read further comments.

Thanks.

Hi zbeaker, you can for example upload them on http://imgur.com/ and post the links here in the comments

I finished 1-4. 5 has more possible configurations than I care to imagine. Packed it in.

How do you get the shapes off each other once you put then together?

Emily, double click the shape.

Never mind, I got it.

I got as far as level 6. Now I'm stuck, but I don't want to look at any solutions. I feel like I ought to be able to get this one.

It's definitely unique, but it's WAY too "exact" on having to exactly trace over the red loop. For level 2, I swear I had it 3 or 4 times, but it was apparently not *quite* exactly on the line. Too frustrating. :P

Sure enough, I went to back to Level 6 today and got it on my first try! Just needed a brain reset!

(a bit hard to see, but the 'smallest' triangle is attached to the right bottom motor and then linked up to the top motor, medium triangle attached to left and linked to right, Biggest triangle attached to top and linked to left.)

And i'm kind of giving up on 15.. maybe tomorrow

Just looking at level 5, the sheer number of possibilities is overwhelming. Then I saw that you can move one of the wheels. :(

Jenny said...

eightoclock, I just wanted to point out that the solution for level 1 is on the bottom of the screen, making it one of the easiest for me.

Anonymous said...

I have a question to those who solved most of the levels, are you using mechanical design methods to solve them out (like the ones in the machinery course for mechanical engineers) or are you just trying all the possibilities?

Don't tell me I have to take that course again :(

Anonymous said...

I'm got to Level 11 unassisted (which I'm giving up on) and have just used trial, error, observation, etc to solve.. One tip is to try and just get close with the movement then note where on the incorrect line the red dot is when the wheels are at their start positions - generally at the top of the wheels.. that can give you the start position for the drawing arms and cut out some of the guessing..

Best puzzle in a LONG time.. I actually got 11 and the rest to 15 which I can't be bothered with.. WAY too many possibilities.. Thanks Bart..

@chefsinger,
THANK YOU!!!!!!! I've been wondering what Minoto has been up to. :)

My name is Masa! How cool is that!

I didn't post the new Minoto because, well it's basically the same as his 2008 game:

Wow. January must be a really slow month for new games. It's the 21st and there have only been 8 games this month.

jam6i said...

Totally late to the game, as always. I'm not sure how I feel about this game. Sure, it's unique in it's ambition. However, it's very easy to get lost in your own intentions (however good) and forget that holy crap, man, people don't like unfair challenges.

The sheer number of permutations of the pieces on some of these levels is mindboggling. It very quickly drops from "oh this is cool" to literally "f*ck this game". That's where this game fails, because it loses the audience it so happily charmed at the beginning.

I can only think of a handful of games I've played where I threw my hands up and said "I've got better things to do than this".

There is no reward for even finally solving a level. Just an "ok, next level". Really? Really? A good game has a sense of accomplishment, however small. This game manages to crush all feeling of success within seconds of actually progressing forward.

This game...no.
