i'm happy to be the first of yours... without help

not so sad yet to be out

At last, a point-and click that you can work out logically! (No combining sticks with paper clips to make a fishing rod!)

Nicely thought out.

yeah, out! very cute ;)

This took far longer than it should as I missed that you had to look at the laptop's keyboard rather than your own...

Duh!

Excellent game and very rewarding when solved :)

[SPOILER] Anonymous, when the lights are off there's a little circle along with all the other shapes. It's a coin -- get it and put it in the machine. (Or, if you've done that already, just click on the characters to change their colors.)

Does anyone know if it makes a difference if you pick up the chickie after waking it up?

Anonymous said...

If you pick up the chickie, you can stack him with the others at the end when you escape.

awwww... that is very cute.

oke, not my walkthrough but who cares?

Turn right. Move the two shirts aside to get the shovel. Turn left and zoom in on the plant. Use the shovel to get the coin from the dirt.

Turn left. Get the coin from the lampshade and the key from under the mat. Notice that the mirror is held in place with a screw.

Turn left. Get the coin from under the cushion on the stool. Notice the clue in the wastebasket: the pound sign goes with 3. Explore the laptop: you can turn it on, there’s a USB port and a slot up front for some type of disk or card, and the keyboard is kinda funky — the pound sign above the 3 is one of the few punctuation marks that’s in the same place as on a standard US keyboard.

Turn left. Use the key on the blue cubby to get the floppy. Open the left-hand side of the cabinet to see the slot machine. Insert the three coins and pull the lever to get the battery.

Turn right. Insert the floppy in the slot on the front of the laptop. Zoom out once, then zoom in on the screen and view the file. It looks kinda like cartoon swearing: !&*%$. Combine this with the clue from the wastebasket to convert this into (mostly) numbers, using the laptop’s keyboard layout. You should get 16:54.

Turn left and click the alarm clock. Click the left edge to turn it around, open the compartment, and insert the battery. Turn back to the front and enter the time code: the middle button changes the hour, the right-hand button changes the minute (in two-minute increments). When it says 16:54, push the left-hand button. The alarm rings, then the left side opens and reveals a key. Get the key.

Turn left and use the key to open the drawer. Get the screwdriver.
Turn left and use the screwdriver on the mirror to access the lightswitch.

Look all around the room with the lights off and note the shape and location of each bright spot. In the sofa view, click the small bright spot by the plant to get another coin. Turn the lights back on.

Turn twice from the lightswitch and use the coin in the slot machine to get the USB drive.

Turn right and insert the USB drive in the laptop. View the new file. Notice that you can change the colors of the shapes by clicking them.

When the lights are off, the bright shapes are each on a particular color: the circle is on the white couch, the diamond is on the green part of the painting, the heart is on the black T-shirt, the star is on the red cubby door, and the triangle is on the blue painting. Change each shape to match its location, then click the OK button to open the door.

Ending 1:

go out the door and up the ladder, click the trapdoor several times to open it, and you’re out.

Ending 2:

before you go out, get the wakened birdie from the red cubby. Then go out the door and up the ladder, and click the trapdoor several times to open it. When you’re out, close the trapdoor, and pile the birdies back in their nest: click the biggest bird, then the nest, then the next-biggest bird, and the nest, and so on, finishing with the bird from your inventory.
