Walkthrough (not mine)

click on the statue. it will move to the left.
pick up the rice cracker, give it to the deer.
pick up the dumpling left on the little bench by the deer.
give the dumpling to the monkey. it will move out of the way and reveal a carrot. notice that the monkey is now floating over an area of blue light.
click twice on the carrot to get it into your inventory.
click on the arrow to move one scene to the right
click on the cats. they will move away and one will go to the basket of dancing snakes.
click on the basket and the cat will poke at it. one snake will fall out , pick up the snake.
click on the right arrow to move one scene to the right.
give the carrot to the rabbit. the rabbit will then go to the dog house and the dog will come out.
click on the piece of paper in the bird house. it will drift to the ground. pick it up. note: if you don’t give the carrot to the rabbit first, it will be in the way and you won’t be able to pick up the paper.
click on right arrow to move one scene to the right.
click on the shovel. use the shovel on the crack in the ground (upper left corner, above the beehive looking thing). water will come to the surface.
click the water. the small elephant will move to the water. then click on the larger elephant who will follow. note: clicking on the small elephant will not get it to move; clicking on the water will not get the larger elephant to move. tricky tricky!
the larger elephant was standing over a box. pick up the box and use the ? button to look at it.
while looking at the box, click on it. it opens to reveal a green stick. take the stick.
put the snake in the hole of the beehive looking thing. it will go in and come back out with a dumpling. pick up both the dumpling and the snake.
give the dumpling to the bird. it will float over a patch of blue light like the monkey in the first scene.
click on the left arrow to go back to the scene with the dog and the rabbit.
use the shovel on the mound of dirt (upper right corner, above the dog house where the rabbit now is) to dig up a box.
pick up the box and look at it. it is ‘a machine to sharpen.’ put the green stick in the hole above the crank. the crank will turn on its own, the stick comes back out on its own, and it is revealed to be a pencil. click on the pencil to get it into your inventory.
click on the left arrow to go back to the scene with the snake charmer and the cat.
look at the paper and use the pencil on it. what you get is a note that says “10$”. put this on the plate in front of the snake charmer. it seems that the snake charmer accepts counterfeit b/c he gives you his flute in exchange for the note you have just written.
click on the left arrow to go back to the scene with the monkey, deer and statue (the first scene).
put the snake in the far left jar. use the flute on this jar; the snake will dive into the second jar. use the flute on the second jar; the snake will dive out of the second jar and into the third jar. it comes back up on its own with a third dumpling. take the dumpling. you can take the snake, but you don’t need it any more.
Click the right arrow twice to get back to the scene with the dog and the rabbit.
now, this is the difference between the two endings. if you give the dumpling to the dog, it will start to float over a patch of blue light. after a moment you will get the “three ending”. given the name of the game (three attendants), this seems to be the desired end.
if you give the dumpling to the rabbit instead, you will get the rabbit ending. this will make the monkey and the bird cry.

I think this game (and the last) are based on this Japanese folk tale -- that's why the bird and monkey are sad if the dog doesn't get to come along.

Thank you, Matt. I finally makes a little sense.

Glad to help, anonymous?

I read at another site that Minoto's Turtle Help is based on Urashima Taro -- so is Four Seasons of Castle and maybe some other games (this explains why you're not supposed to touch the present in Four Seasons of Castle).

Minoto may use some other folk tales in other games, I don't know (I just found this one by Google).
