the word alone

The word alone is an interesting puzzler by MattRix. Your goal is to isolate the letters A L O N E by pushing the other letters off the board. Spell a valid word (3 or more letters) and use the arrow keys to move it.

65 moves, but I did it finally...

Made it only 20 moves I think that's a pretty good score....and didn't realize that it isn't multi leveled.

Interesting game. If you can make a word in the middle of the board, you can move it around to dump off other letters.

12 moves nice game, wish there were more levels

20 moves too,, took a bit to wrap my head around the total concept of possible moves.

finally figured it out, thanks to my daughter pointing out the obvious word 'alone'... best score is 8, can't physically do better than that! or prove me wrong?

I like this one. Failed utterly my first try, made it in 12 my second. Was hoping there would be other board configurations but it is enjoyable all the same. Thanks for this, Bart!

Tough little one, made in about 50 moves or so, though English is not my native tongue. =]

21 moves. Double thanks Bart. 1st for the game (very unique). 2nd because in my years of online casual gaming, I had never heard of the Ludem Dare competition. Some other interesting games there.

Nice game. Once you get the hang of it, I think it can always be solved in about 10 moves or better.

Note: each game is 25 letters, excluding Z, in random positions. Making words costs nothing, but pushing costs a move. Therefore make words that push at least 2 letters off each time. Get rid of JQXWK etc early on. Keep ETAOIN SHRDLU because they make more words. Use the letters in ALONE to keep them safe in the centre.

Yes, I like this one.

Made it in 8!

Excellent game, yet quite easy :)

this game needs a demo badly. The instructions were very hard to decipher.

I like this game and often pop it on to while the time away. There is no limit to the levels - different letter configuration every time you click "Restart". Would be better if it said "Play Again".

At first I couldn't figure out how tom move the letters. Read the directions again... silly me, they were right in the instructions. Made it in 13 my first time. Cool game!

I agree with j.

This is an interesting game to often come back to.
