a second bontegames interview with ...

It's time for the second interview with a game designer of the frequently featured games here on bontegames and this time the game designer is ... Yoshio Ishii!
Yoshio is famous for his fine hoshi saga 'find the star' puzzle series (you can find all the episodes here).
So put your thinking cap on, submit your questions for Yoshio in the comments below, I will collect them for Yoshio and pretty soon I hope to present you everything you always wanted to know about Yoshio and his games!

Questions : who's your favourite mangaka? are you influenced by any one in your games? also, are you interested in traditional Japanese art form such as ukiyoe?

Thanks Bart!

Do you imagine the Hoshi Saga will ever have an end, or could it go on forever? Have you written other games, not in the Hoshi Saga series? What Flash games by other creators do you like or have influenced you?

Why ''find the star'' ? Do stars have a special meaning for you?
Lots of people love your games, how many episodes do you plan on making?
Have you ever had an ''artist block'' ?
Have you done any other games than Hoshi Saga series?
What do you get inspired/influenced by?
Have you ever played Bart's original games? If so, what do you think of them?

I love Hoshi Saga! Let's see...

Is it hard to create puzzles for your games' levels?
About the different level difficulty,do you start creating the level thinking "Ok, this will be a hard one" or do you decide it after the creation?

Queen Fume-Boo said...

Why are the levels centered around finding a star?

Anonymous said...

What influenced you to center all of the games on finding a star, and what inspires you most in the world?

Here's one he might understand considering how the other interview went....How are left hand?

Do you see your "Find the Star" games more as puzzles, or more as a form of artwork?

Are there any artists who have inspired your "Find the Star" images?

For each level that makes it into one of your "Find the Star" games, how many levels do you start to work on, but ultimately do not use?

Questions:

How long have you been designing games?

What first inspired you to make games?

Are you involved in another career field or do you focus all of your time toward making games?

What other game designers do you enjoy?

Did you go to school for art or are you a self taught artist?

luv his games, very creative!

my questions:

- how long does it take to create one episode?

- is it one person or a team-work?

- is it your main job or just a hobby? if a hobby, then what's your main job?

- i like the question about art-education (did he get it or he's just so talented :) )

thankoo!

I'd like to know what he does for a living? How does he find time to create these wonderful games?

Anonymous said...

Is there a reason why you started creating these games? Did something specific make you think of the idea, or had you had this idea for a long time?

Anonymous said...

What inspired you to make 'Ouka'? Especially since it's not one of the 'Hoshi Saga' episodes.
p.s. i love your games :D

Anonymous said...

Are you going to make more Ouka episodes? That game was entertaining and very pretty!
