Orpheus was to marry his love Euridice, but she was taken by Hades, God of the Underworld. Can you get her back playing your harp in the beautiful puzzle adventure Orpheus?

It's nice, but short. And the ending left me a bit unsatisfied...
Anyway i really enjoyed it, thanx!

Like I said on kongregate, this type of game would be an AWESOME way to learn to read music if he used notes on a staff instead of letters in the game play...

Great game. Poor Orpheus! He turned around too soon.

Is this part of a series? I thought there was one like this out a few months ago but I can't remember the name of it.

If you are colorblind like me it's almost impossible to distinguish the colors. Which obviously makes it very hard to play. Hence not enjoyable.

I agree with the colorblind comment above...the puzzle where you have to match the colors to play the right notes to get on the boat...impossible for me...I too am colorblind and had to use the walkthrough. Game makers should keep that in mind when creating a game that the colors shouldn't be so close in shade that makes it hard to tell which is which. The bubble popping games are notorious for that.

it ended up being more about guesswork and trial and error than anything because i never really figured out how to do some of the music pieces. i just ended up guessing for a lot of them. but the ones that did work were fine. :)

I liked the fact that playing the instrument affected in-game elements. Kind of like Legend of Zelda... WHY DO I KEEP REFERENCING THAT GAME D:

just way too frustrating to deal with. if you don't have perfect pitch, you're screwed. no idea how anyone was able to do this if they don't have that. >_<

Didn't enjoy this one. It wasn't a puzzler -- it was just memorizing the notes that the game quickly flashed at you.

were there supposed to be notes on the staff at the top? i kept waiting for them, but none of the levels had it which made it more guessing than playing. XP

You don't need perfect pitch - just a sense of music. All of the tunes are in A natural minor. For me, this hearkened back to my musicianship classes a bit (especially during the Hades battle- the colors were too fast to follow, so I had to rely on playing back what I heard), but it was wrapped in a pretty package, so I didn't mind. :) Agree that it was too short! And maybe they could've included chords in there, too.

Just use 1-7 on your keyboard to play the notes.

1=A
2=B
3=C
4=D
5=E
6=F
7=G

The combanations are already listed above in the walkthrough that I posted yesterday. I really hope that it's helpful.

I LOVE MUSIC BASED GAMES :D but just as u get in to the game......it ends!!!

Not all of us can play something back correctly after hearing it. Sure, the second note was higher than the first - but by how much?? There should be some kind of visual clue for those of us with a less than perfect ear. Same with colors: add a variation in the shape or something.

Other than that, it was an appealing game.

Beautiful one... It's a shame that it is a little short. But really nice. Thanks!

Technically, it's a lyre, not a harp.

I said...

You know why she didn't come out of the cave at the end? I do... She must have eaten the fruit of Hades like Persephone which makes them unable to leave the underworld. D':

Cute but short. There needs to be a sequel of this. Right?
