In the beginning everything is dark but I'm sure your point and click skills will soon bring some light in loom dawn.

I can't get it to load.

Try refreshing a couple of times, their server can't probably take the load.

I got it-thanks!The art is great!

Thanks for the tip. It's a great game so far! I'll continue it when I have the time. Interesting graphics... and use of darkness!

where can i turn on the light?

Anonymous said...

The whole point of the game is to slowly light up more and more parts of the room.

The night is over:)
Great game!!

I think I found everything but I can't open the door. What's up with the symbols to the right of the desk? I'm stuck at the end.

Thijs said...

Ahh, out. This one was confusing at the end.

Spoiler

Small hint: The key to get out is the cell phone. It's all about the colors.

I have no idea what the point of that weird grid is you find on the back of the paper under the box, or in the mail you get on the laptop.

Anonymous said...

Any hints on unlock.exe on the laptop? Thanks

Anonymous said...

You need to set up "blockers" in the maze so the creature travels to the star. The creature always turns to the right, if possible, when it hits an object. Using this information you can place blockers which will result in it reaching the star. Trial and error should be able to get you there.

What code do you put into the keypad in the wall? I have no idea. I've tried 2169 and 17432, but neither seem to do anything.

Sorry, I can't speak well in english but I will try:
You're right, but it's not the habitual dispositon of the numbers into the keypad, you remember the wall juste left, before that?
With big and small numbers? It's that.
I can't find how to have the star in the little game unlock.exe.. How many bloks must I put?

Where is the cell phone?

Anonymous said...

The keypad on the wall corresponds to the differently-sized numbers on the same wall (e.g. number 9 is in the upper right corner). Use one of the codes.

I can't remember exactly how many blocks I used to do the maze-star game, but it was about 5 or 6 blocks.

Walkthrough PART 1

Use the bars on the side of the screen to turn around the darkened room until you locate the small bit of light. Click on it twice. You have now opened the blinds on the window.

Back up and turn left. You can see the light from the window shining on the floor. Click on that part of the floor. Get the key and turn on the floor lights. Note which four lights are yellow.

Back up. Part of the wall is now lit. Click the lit portion of the wall. You will see the numbers 1-9 in increasing size. Note their positions. You will use these number positions to type a code in later. For now, just press number 7. This turns on a light over a phone.

Back up and find the phone. Get the battery next to the phone. Lift up the receiver and click the hang-up button. This turns on lights on either side of the phone table. Back up and find the shelf under the table. Use the key to open up the small red box. A glowing ball pops out. Close the box and move it to one side (just keep clicking on it). Open the piece of paper. Note the 5-digit code on the paper. You will use this with the number position on the wall you just looked at before.

Back up, click on the ball twice. Now the ball is behind some pegs. Turn four of the pegs yellow to match the floor lights you saw earlier. They will transform into completely yellow. Back up. Now a different part of the wall is lit up. Go to the keypad. Using the code from the paper and the positions from the part of the wall you looked at before, press the positions of the 5 numbers in the code (must be in order). The light at the bottom will turn on.

On the far side of the room, a desk is lit. Click above it to open a window. Open the laptop on the desk. You will see a diagram showing the order to click buttons on the phone you've used before.

On the wall opposite the phone is a control panel. Open the lower left box and click the switch. This turns on a wall lamp. Next to that is a white switchboard with one switch down. Flip it up. Now an outlet to the side of the desk is revealed.

Move to the outlet. Get the second battery. Go to the desk drawer and put the batteries in the white holder. Close the drawer and you will see four shapes in a row on the floor. These correspond to the four shapes in the control panel.

Walkthrough Part 2

Go to the control panel and push the top buttons until the four shapes are in the right order. Press the central button. Remove the plug-in-light (nightlight?). Close the main door and note the shape of the button now.

Go to wall outlet and plug in the nightlight. Surprise! The other cord was a dummy, and now you can see the computer cord. Unplug the lower socket and plug the computer in. Disassemble the unused light and get the key. Use the key to open the right hand drawer. Ge the red crystal. This matches the socket on the control panel.

Turn on the computer. You have no mail. How sad. But you can play the "unlock" computer game" Turn some of the squares black to get the ball to the star. This can be done with trial and error. After the animation you will see the creature has a green eye.

Now you can open the lower right portion of the control panel. Use the red crystal in the middle of the control panel to get power to the red handle switch. Pull the red handle switch. This turns on the light over the door. You are now so close to escaping…

On the red handle there is a dash with some numbers. Likewise there is a dash with some numbers on the white box near the wall lamp, and there are some numbers with TWO dashes on the first bit of wall that ever lit up for you. Combine these three numbers where the dashes are, and get one 11-digit number. Dial that number on the phone. It's calling someone!

Look near the control panel and see a cell phone ringing. Pick it up. The batter is low, but it got out a text message in time. Put the cell phone down.

Check your mail on the computer. What does it mean? No one knows. There's also some symbols under the window on the right hand side. Those don't seem to mean anything either.

Go back to the cell phone. See the order the colors appear on the out-of-power message. Put the colors at the top of the control panel in the same order.

Open the door handle, and you're out!

For the maze:

If you labeled the columns A, B, C, D, E, F and the rows 1-6, starting at the TOP, you can solve the puzzle with blocks in the following positions: F1, A4, E4, B6.

unable to get star under green eyed robot

Im assuming the red crystal comes from the star

Thanks for this game Bart. It's was so nice to have more than just the usual "escape the room" scenario...

Some brain twisters there as well

Alternate ending!

After unlocking the door, click the brighter lines at the top to see a diagram for the switchboard. Flip all the switches to the right positions to open a panel where the keypad was. Collect the blue sphere and red diamond, place them in the proper holes. Grab cellphone and put it in the middle. Use the pattern by the laptop to solve the cellphone puzzle. Back to the diagram above the door, click the purple spot. That will stop the door from closing, shining light on the window across the room. Close the shutters for the star pattern. Finish the unlock.exe game, and Lights on!

I like the "night is over" end. I almost left when i noticed something at the top of the door opening.

This is true. I had many errors, and it was quite a trial. :) thanks for the follow up post with instructions

as for the symbols near the desk, they correspond to the blocks in the first switch box, next to where the flower lamp is plugged in, beside the table the phone is on, and on the top of te door handle.

I don't know what they are for yet.

Also, after you finish unlock.exe you can click on the star and change some of the dots. :S

which dots of the star

Lichen Fairy said...

There's a star at the brh corner of the unlock thingy after you finish it. You click on the star, it becomes large, and there are dots near the corners that you can change.

I think it's a sort of password and you click on the centre to submit.

Coffeeteamix said...

I believe wawantland's explanation is referring to the star Lichen Fairy and Anonymous are talking about.... but I can't get past the "collect the blue sphere and red diamond" part of the explanation! T_T
I see the 2 circles now have the picture of a blue sphere and red diamond... but I can't click on them and I don't see these shapes anywhere else T_T

Victoria said...

You have already used the red diamond and blue sphere before. Recycle!

Coffeeteamix said...

ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhh~~~ ic~~ thanx Victoria! ^___^ haha, recycle.. what a great concept =P

the night is over...but what have to do with second note under telephone n the message..code like HHH

Um, how do you flick the switches?

Never mind, I was just being a little absent-minded.

FINALLY OUT! THAT was tough! Thank you, thesmothete, I couldn't have made it through without you!

I'm trying to complete the alternative ending but I'm not having much luck solving the code in the grid on the cellphone! I know there are 4 rectangular shapes in various places... the one by the phone has the top and bottom thirds filled in, the one by the laptop has top and middle thirds solid, the one in the switch box had a solid bottom third, and the one on the door handle has the middle bit filled in. I just cannot work out how to relate these to the diagram on the paper under the box or the diagram in the email. Can someone please help!!

¥ said...

whats the word pazzled? means? anyone knows? thx ^^

Lichen Fairy said...

For the anonymous who is stuck with the grid: there is an illustration above the desk with the laptop that shows you what order the grid needs. Hope that helps.

¥: I think it's "puzzled" mispelled. I think it's backwards to give you a clue to click the backwards number.

So what about those intersecting lines on the back of the paper? was there ever a use for that?

Margaret said...

Wow. I really liked the going from dark to light. And most of the time I even made it through the puzzles without help! Yay for my finally starting to see improvement in my logic.

And for all those time when I did need help? Thanks, thesmothete!

Anonymous said...

why is it so hard to play????????!!!!!!!!!

Coffeeteamix said...

someone over at jayisgames suggested that the intersecting lines that looks like a ladder is for figuring out the mapping of the 4 coloured symbols on the electrical box thing to the 4 coloured hearts on the door. Because one is in a horizonal line configuration, whereas the other is in a square configuration? That person drew a nice diagram of the explanation... but I didn't get it O_O

Hey Bart, deze game was leuk! ik ben er best lang mee bezig geweest, maar heb hem uiteindelijk helemaal uitgespeeld, ik heb zelfs de hele kamer verlicht gekregen.

i pressed the position of the 5-digit code (1 on bottom, left;7 in the upper left corner; 4 in the middle, left; 3 on bottom right and 2 at bottom, middle), but nothing transpired.

Anonymous said...

I finished the unlock.exe game for the second time and beat the bad guy... but it just says "the end". No lights or anything! What did I forget?

tam said...

very good indeed!
thank you for some help here and there and special thanks to wawantland for the alternate ending: I was wondering what a few things were for...
