doormat [browser]
Explore a mysterious world and solve brain-teasing traversal puzzles to progress in the top-down metroidvania Doormat by Yat Fung Leung.
Ran to the end doormat without finding the other blue monoliths (I'm assuming), but then you're returned to the start? Should be a way to go back and finish. But fun game and mechanic.
I used the grapple on a pole and got stuck on it, i refreshed the page hoping it would load me at the start of the screen and instead reset all my progress.
Fun puzzle game, solid controls. I found one monolith but missed all the others and finished on the mat. I guess you have to replay the whole thing to find the secret ending.
Secret ending? Hard to say. I did replay the game from the start. I got all three of the blue monoliths or whatever they are and . . . well, without spoiling anything the difference in the end game was not overly dramatic. I did miss the 3rd photo on the replay, so maybe the jury's still out on the wham-bang ending.
thank you for playing the game and sharing it! honestly im so surprised with the traffic that your post garnered, i really appreciate it. It was my first godot project :) in regards to the comments, yeah the ending isnt exactly a huge switch-up but i thought I would add it to give a bit more for secret-hunters :) the main focus was the puzzles and mechanics, glad everyone was enjoying it!
Please add a save game feature! It can get frustrating to start over and over again and it would be a pity because it is a really great game, even though I am locked in a situation and don't find a way out. So I am having difficulties but just love the idea, design, music...
Try using the reset position menu option if your stuck while backtracking. That helped me when I thought I was stuck trying to backtrack and couldn't figure out how to do so.
I really liked this game. It was just the right level of difficulty, and I like how each new ability got combined with the earlier ones. I REALLY liked the zoom out function, but a full map (or at least one where the places you've visited gets revealed) would be helpful if the game got any bigger. I hope it does. This is a fun concept!
I pasted up maps, as that was the only way I could get thru the game. Here's a link to them: https://imgur.com/a/7G4fCQH There are 3 overlapping maps, with the game starting at the very bottom.
The end was odd, but the puzzles were fun.
ReplyDeleteInteresting game! I imagine there's some sort of secret ending if you can find all the photos.

DeleteThere isn't one. Not even an achievement notification.

ReplyDeleteHow is the grapple supposed to work? I'm at the orange part but I can't figure out what to do once I've got the grapple.
ReplyDeleteNever mind! I got it.

ReplyDeleteCongrats with the game, I absolutely loved it! Interesting mechanics and not too difficult.

DeleteYes, I did it, without restarting, yay... I'd love to see more of it!
ReplyDeleteI'm really not fond of games which open a completely new window. It's presumptuous to say the least.
ReplyDelete... or games with tinny music that I can't turn off.
ReplyDeleteYou can turn it off though ….
DeleteIt was fun to play, but I ended up just getting lost over and over.

ReplyDeleteThis was a good one, I eventually managed to finish it. I do wish it could save progress. Now I need to decide if I want to try for the other ending.
ReplyDeleteLink not working, please fix
ReplyDeleteFixed
