...Also, the mushroom colonies are also predictable:

Set a mushroom down, the 'big' mushroom goes where you set it down, and you get 'little' mushroomlet (the little + signs).

Set a mushroom down near others: any placement that would add a "+" mushroomlet to an existing "+" mushroomlet gives a big mushroom at that existing site. And that new big mushroom will spawn new little mushroomlets "+'s" around it, so you can get a cute little chain reaction if the board is set up for it.robj137https://www.blogger.com/profile/04720995375550966483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4568527495646751209.post-20588330797429789692018-01-17T20:11:57.210+01:002018-01-17T20:11:57.210+01:00It's a fine explanation. Here's the actual "rule":

If a square with a tomato plant on it can "see" a flower (up/down or left/right, unimpeded by water or another plant), it will grow itself towards that flower in a straight line until it hits the flower.

Repeat as necessary. If one of the squares that has a new tomato plant can see another flower, it will send off it's own row towards it.

Also, and this is kind of fun: if you first plant a tomato plant, and then *later* plant a flower that the tomato plant can see, it will grow a row of tomato plant towards the new flower too.
robj137https://www.blogger.com/profile/04720995375550966483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4568527495646751209.post-674555169719349662018-01-17T08:39:43.356+01:002018-01-17T08:39:43.356+01:00Tomatoes are perfectly predictable too, assuming I...Tomatoes are perfectly predictable too, assuming I'm thinking of the right plant here.
As the hint said, 'Tomatoes like flowers'.
So as a result,
[Spoilers, I guess?]
they will grow towards flowers in straight lines from where they start and from those straight lines.
This is a terrible explanation, of course.Gentlecathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02277036582186231549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4568527495646751209.post-64608684284631015752018-01-17T08:01:19.373+01:002018-01-17T08:01:19.373+01:00Agree - interesting and creative, but tomato plant...Agree - interesting and creative, but tomato plants & mushroom colonies have me confused regarding how they behave.

Otherwise, each plant grows in a predictable way. There was no rhyme or reason why they would grow in the patterns they did. In a big open area they'd grow 8 blocks, unless you filled one square 5 steps away and then I might get a growth of only 1 or 2.Xexushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08511563105012152546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4568527495646751209.post-45715703207677914422018-01-17T02:09:32.611+01:002018-01-17T02:09:32.611+01:00Can't get past lvl2.
