a is for astronaut [browser]
Toombler is making a series of small puzzlescript games for letters of the alphabet and this is the first installment in that series: A is for Astronaut. (Z key to undo a move, R key to restart)
Took a bit but I got all the repairs done & returned. Can I get the retractor fixed ? And will you please finish researching the jet pack. We can't keep relying on nearby space rocks to maintain our orbit.
This game is definitely interesting, but I'm a bit confused on the controls. Help! Why does right sometimes go left, up goes down, and sometimes I can't go a certain direction at all?
At a guess, when you're on the brown background, you're "walking", and you move in the direction of the arrow key, but when you're on the black background, you're "in space" and you're using your rocket, so you go in the opposite direction of the arrow.
When you're in space (black background), you have to push off something to go somewhere. So if there's nothing to push off, you can't go anywhere.
Re the reversed controls, if you've got a wall on your left, you need to press the left key to push against the wall in order to go right. It is a bit confusing!
I think the link is broken

DeleteNo idea why you sometimes can't move at all.

Took me forever, and I was pretty glad to realize that there was only the one level.
ReplyDeleteWas starting to wonder if I'm getting dumber as I get older but it just took persistence, leaving it, coming back a bit later, etc.. great puzzle
ReplyDeleteSame for me! Hints above (about pushing off of things) were super-helpful also.
