Push everything into place and figure out how to do this in the latest Jack Lance puzzlescript puzzler: VEXT EDIT. (Z key to undo a move, R key to restart a level)

  1. Interesting. I like having to figure out what needs to be done on each level. Thanks, Bart!

  3. Currently stuck on chapter 8, I believe it's the 2nd level. Any advice?

  4. @Ano.

8.2 twins: 2 boxes with the coals in opposite corners.

    few hints:
1: Place 1 box on each goal.
2: The other 4 boxes must be placed movable and not touching each other.

3: Place the boxes along the edge to stop the player form moving towards the other coal.

4: Boxes in both levels need to be placed on a different place.

    5: .....

  5. Stuck at the safe...

  6. @Ano2.

yellow wall can't be passed by the player,
Red can't be passed by the selector.

If you pickup the "1" and place it below something, it becomes stock.
So if you place it under a wall, the wall is placeable and you can make a route for the player in to the wall.

  7. Thanks @Peter, got it
Now stuck at the blue "Uh Oh" (6.2 or 6.3 I think)
looks similar to the safe but can't manage to make a route in the wall there

  8. Managed to get through 8.2 shortly after posting the previous comment, currently stuck at 8.3 though. Any advice for that one?

  9. 8.3?

The level with 3 coals, and to less numbers to make 3 players and 3 goals.

    No stuck on that one

  10. So any hint for 8.3? It is very similar to an earlier level.

    ReplyDelete
  11. It is similar, apart from the fact that you cannot exit the player model once you enter it. From what I can tell, you need to remove some of the walls in order to make it so the player can travel between all 3 sections. Furthermore, you need enough boxes in existence to be able to accomplish said goal. It's a rather complicated level, honestly...

  12. It's also worth mentioning that you need both "2"s to create enough crates to solve that level.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Does that mean it is doable? You were able to finish 8.3?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I was the one asking for a hint. Eventually figured it out. It is doable. Different then other levels.

  15. How did you beat it?

    ReplyDelete
  16. There is a way to generate what is needed, and not given at the start.

  17. My current approach for 8.3 is to try and make a sort of E shape, with blocks in the middle of each row. Haven't been able to completely get there though, since I always end up one resource short. Is this the right idea or am I way off?

  18. I'm really struggling on this one, which I think is related to some of the levels being discussed here, though I don't remember the level number. I know that placing a number below a section of Wall should make it duplicable, but I'm not seeing how to make it work here. Any hints?

  19. @Anou3
Before making a hole in the yellow wall, you need to put the required items inside the red wall (using "blue" selector)
then make the hole and push 2 blocks & 2 persons in the yellow wall... and try to surf ;-)

  22. Stuck on 7.4 or something of the like, with the player and box both stuck on the bottom. Any tips?

    ReplyDelete
  23. For the level with both the player and box at the bottom, remember that you can move anything with the numbers. Perhaps something a little higher up...

  24. Any advice for 8.3? Someone earlier mentioned something, but I'm not sure what thing "is needed, and not given at the start".

    ReplyDelete
  25. Don't worry about specifically what's needed; focus on the word "generate" and see what's possible.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I felt that I really cheesed the last level with "generating" ... hopefully it was intended.

  27. still stuck on this one, any hint ?

(works better if you would have a name to call you.

    But hint:
    Move the 1 below the 3(now 2).
Move the 2 below the 1.
Place the 1 under the wall
    Move the wall

  29. Any additional tip for 8.3? I'm only able to break 1 wall and when i generate 3 coals, as far I can see I need to break one more wall but don't have the resource.

  30. I also need a tip for 8.3

All the other puzzles I eventually found the solution by myself, but this one I've been stuck for 2 days, I really don't see it.

To me, it's impossible, there aren't enough resources to do anything. And there is no symbol for "infinite placing".

    Thanks!

  31. There's a way of manipulating just numbers to produce more numbers than you start with. The method itself is simple but the layout of the puzzle is cleverly designed to make it unlikely that you will stumble across it by chance.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow, I even tried that, but I tried to do it from top to bottom in several ways, got nowhere, and concluded it wasn't possible to create more numbers than you have to start with. Now I feel stupid.

    Anyway, thanks!

  33. Out the gate: there is a glitch in blue-selector levels that makes it so hovering over the goal with blue counts as a win. 8.3 is certainly different since some operation you may have mentally prediscarded as useless ends up being the key

  34. Found it:
    8.3

Make a ling train of ones,
by placing the 2 on top of each other in the lower corner.
Place the top 2 one field higher, so the below 2 turns in a 1.
you can make about 1 ones this way
