2016 top 10 web games

2016 is coming to an end and it's a tradition here at bontegames that I make a list of my personal top 10 free browser games of the year. So fire up your favourite browser, here's the bontegames 2016 top 10 web games!

10. Empty by Dustyroom
Everything must go in this stylish puzzler until you are left with an empty room. (original post)

9. Theseus by Dan Harris
A puzzle platformer where you can't jump but should think how to grow, change and reach the exit. (original post)

8. Cube escape: theatre by Rusty Lake
Welcome to the theatre, let the surreal point and click maestros of Rusty Lake mess with your mind. (original post)

7. Initial conditions by Reheated
Humanity is extinct but the possibility exists to grow it again, that is, if you can solve this excellent puzzler. (original post)

6. Gargoyles by Robamimi
Another fine escape the room game by Robamimi, expanding her ever growing escape room universe. (original post)

5. Super dangerous dungeons by Jussi Simpanen
Run and jump your way through corridors filled with traps and puzzles by platformer master Jussi Simpanen. (original post)

4. The mother of the bird men by Jo99
Another beautifully crafted Miss Libellule point and click adventure by Jo99. (original post)

3. Spaceplan by Jake Hollands
It starts with a blank screen and the damaged controls of your spaceship, just click (a lot) to uncover the rest. (original post)

2. Zenge: starborn by Hamster On Coke
Peculiar, relaxing, interesting, challenging, fascinating, those are all qualities of this excellent puzzler by Hamster On Coke. (original post)

1. Klocki by Maciej Targoni
Klocki comes without words or instructions, it doesn't need any because it's a pure and brilliant puzzle game and it's my personal number 1 browser game of 2016! (original post)

That's it for my personal favourites of 2016. What were yours? I'm looking forward to read yours in the comments below!

From the bontegames side, there were 3 new games that hit your browsers in 2016: What's inside the box?, Cat in Japan and Blocky XMAS and 2 new games that hit your mobile devices: What's inside the box? iOS - Android and Blocky XMAS iOS - Android

I hope you enjoyed this list and I'm wishing you a very very happy happy 2017! This was @BartBonte, digging through all this year's browser games, for bontegames dot com!

  3. I absolutely love Klocki and Super Dangerous Dungeons, these are both in my favourites. A shame that the Monkey Go Happy series didn't feature as so much work has gone into providing game after game after game from Robin Vencel.

  4. Spaceplan and Klocki are also my top list :)

  5. I do not understand why Super Dangerous Dungeons is number 5. I've played the first dungeon and there seems to be nothing spectacular about it besides being a platformer with a resolution that's slightly above average. Everything else is great, though Cube Escape: Theatre and The Mother of the Bird Men should be higher up on the list, in my opinion.

  10. At some point, I reached some plateau in Spaceplan and figured it didn't have and ending. Then I forgot about it until your top ten list, and when I went back I found the end was only 5 minutes away. :)
