  1. I'm going to have to come back to this one... Not yet sure what the point is...

  2. On chapter three, I am stuck in an area. To the rightmost screen, there is a big torch that I cannot reach. To the left of that, there are four screens of continuous falling loops, with little checkpoint torches: a speckled, a two row, a five column, and a diamond formation of torches in that order. When I get to the leftmost screen, there is a drop that cause you to get stuck and forces you to refresh the website. Luckily, the progress is saved, but there are no other options. I have tried everything. Please help.

  3. dursus, the drop you are referring to is supposed to bring you back to the top of the map. You definitely shouldn't get stuck there. (I got stuck and had to refresh too, but in other places). Hope that helps.

  4. Nope, terrible graphics, constantly stuck with no hints or help whatsoever, it's all black with very little detail to very hard to 'remember where to go or not'. Boring. Off to play the new Monkey Go Happy game instead!

  6. Never mind, seems to be working now. Think I'm just using a slow computer.

  7. I was expecting a cute platformer, but from the beginning,--
I'm not the one to exit the game within 1 second of beginning it, but that was the case for the game. I know this game said you need to be attentive, but not at the start of the game!
I usually FLIP when I encounter a "Jumpscare" or a type of it, and thats what the game introduced me to. "Hello. LOUD NOISE. Enjoy the gameplay." And, thats when I blankly stare at the game for a few seconds, pause it, and quickly exit out of it. Too bad I can't live the experience of the game that others have been.

  8. The art style reminds me of Zeliard, only this game has no monsters (at least, none so far). Sweet, sweet nostalgia :)

  9. OK, I decided to actually try this game on a new computer, and it's... interesting...
More to the point, I'm stuck in the weird half-light memory section with the squid thingies, in the part where you have to jump around to all of the little platforms with a couple of torches in midair. Oddly enough, when I fall from those areas I fall into the water, but when I come over to the area to the right of it my "perception" starts working correctly again and I loop-fall. I can see a vertical passage on the far right blocked by a wall. Weird...
If I don't figure out this jumpy-thing soon, I'll give up.

  10. Figured it out... I think the thing on the right is just a glitch. STOP READING HERE IF YOU WANT TO FIGURE IT OUT YOURSELF!!!
To beat the two areas I was in, in the lower one, you have to fall into the torch and land on the platform below and to the left, then go back around. In the upper one, you fall into the torch, then fall all the way down rightwards into the previous area WITHOUT HITTING THE PREVIOUS TORCH and land on one of the rightward platforms, and then climb back up.

  11. Note: Spoilers below

Managed to beat it, took a few hours though. I really enjoyed the last main puzzle area, as it [Spoilers] combined everything you learned in the previous rooms into one large multi-screen area. The final area with the other character was interesting as well, where it used the white squares (The ones you needed to dodge) that had previously only appeared once in another area. I can't help but wonder if I got the wrong ending though, if a wrong ending even exists. I did get all 8 torches, and beat the boss. Yet after the characters meet on the same screen, the main character falls out of it and into a loop, where the credits play, after several flashes of previous areas. All things considered though, I believe the only bad ending would be dying at the temple, but I'm still not sure if I got the true ending.

  12. Just finished- also took me a few very enjoyable hours. And now it's 4AM...how am I supposed to get any sleep with games like this!? :-)

Honestly, I'm calling it: this should be a Top 10 at year's end. Has to be, because this game is way more involved than I ever anticipated. Lampshade has an interesting storyline, well-chosen music and sounds, nice complex gameplay, simple yet responsive controls, and it legitimately unnerved me several times. Is it perfect? Of course not. But it's an atmospheric adventure with solid pacing that keeps you wanting to explore. You can tell the designers put much effort into making this a satisfying experience!

    [SPOILERS]
Oh, though I think it's obvious: I'm 99.9% sure your characters are tributes to Samus Aran (Metroid) and Super Mario. The whole game is a Metroidvania, for that matter, and that's a compliment. It emulates those 8- and 16-bit games in many respects while still having an original feel. I'll want to reread the poem/replay the game at some point- now with context I can get more out of it!

  13. The way it begins each chapter--
I don't know. The whole thing reminds me of a 6 year-old's children's book that has a hauntingly creepy ending. I can't decide if I like it or not.
I also got stuck, but I can't tell based on your descriptions if I'm stuck in the same place.

  14. I've decided I liked it, except for the boss battle at the end. Honestly, a boss seemed rather out of place in a game like this, but that's just my opinion.

  15. I just got to the boss, and boy, I'm glad this computer doesn't have speakers, cause it would probably be giving me a seizure, and I don't even get seizures. It's awfully hard to see anything, and I can't tell what exactly will kill me and what won't. I think the game would have been much better without it- I mostly liked the puzzles and things up until this point.
But that darn well isn't gonna stop me from trying, especially since I had to do so much to get there. (Also, I have nothing better to do.)

  16. I finally got to the end, after multiple days of working on it a bit at a time. This was a great challenge and a treat. Thanks, Bart!
