    Definitely wacky, but I solved it before it was published here, so: First!

    The turnip seems to make no difference except when I have it in posession the lil mouse thing pops down the fish food. But I don't actually give it to the mouse. Weird... Then again - that's Minoto! :)

    Actually, to the second commentor, the panda ate both rats. When he gets the cake, the rat jumps in, knocking out a strawberry. Then the panda swallows the cake whole, rat and all.
