silent conversation

Silent conversation is the latest Gregory Weir creation, an arty game in which you try to touch as much words as you can ...

  2. Clearly a creative idea for a game, but I don't (yet?) like it. Music reminds me of Isaac Shepards music catch and music catch 2 music.

  3. this game is most wonderous because you can read and play it.

  13. there's one part in nameless city part 1 that is really irritating, the red words are impossible to avoid and once you get hit you can't reclaim all the words that unhighlighted . . . i thought it was interesting though

    It's Calm.
Not Every Game Needs To Be Action Packed Or Stressful.

  19. this game made me cry with its subtle decoration of texts and the challenge to touch every word, a reminder that all great literature is worth lingering over, caressing ...

  20. The comment above this one was probably written by the game's creator.

  21. What is race mode? Does it go faster? Do you race against something?

  22. I got every word in all of them, (except for nameless city 2, which as Jaypee said, has one word that's impossible to get before you fall of the screen) and Alice in Wonderland was by far the best! I liked the part when you're falling down the "well." I would never have gotten it if there hadn't been the "footholds" on the sides or the solid words.

Tip for the powerful words: If you don't mind dying, then get as many of the powerful words as you can before they start "erupting" again.

  24. I really liked this game. It's wonderfully creative and new. And the way the words form things, move, and are placed on the screen (mostly Alice in Wonderland) is really awesome. And I think I'm the first to say that I really liked The Nameless City. It was very interesting to read.

The only way I could see to improve it is to have word animation and things like that. But other then that this is one of the better games I've played lately.

Actually, it's not so much of a game, but a book. A book that makes you slow down and notice each word you read, and focus on the "powerful" words. It's a breath of fresh air from other games.

That being said, if you don't like reading, you'll find this game extremely boring and dull. Good for you. Because, it is more about the words than the gameplay.

But, I do like to read, and I really love this game. I really love all Gregory Weir's games, but this is one of my favorites.

I too enjoyed The Nameless City. I hardly noticed that the level went for so long. I'm gonna have to find that book and buy it. :D

Alice in Wonderland was probably my favourite, though. I really need to read more of these things you call books.

  29. I have to go back to school in two days. :(

  30. I really liked this, but it was a lot trickier than I expected. It's hard to follow the books and play the game at the same time!

As far as the discriptive words being flat in "Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" goes, I believe that's the point; Eliot was portraying Prufrock as a stolid Edwardian gent who is trying to convey romantic imagery, and not being terribly sucessful.

Ughhhh I got in the first story and it was SOOO long and boring and the dumb powerful words kept hitting me. I am not to fond of this game.

  34. The reference to Lovecraft is casual, but the game itself is a real original way to rediscover great texts. Great game!

  35. ...and, for French people like me, a nice way to improve my oxfordishlike English, which I like much than any other manner of speaking this language... although I am almost certain that I have left many grammatical errors in writing my posts. :)
