once upon a coma: chapter 1 [browser]

Remember 2010's excellent adventure game Coma? Well, Thomas Brush is back with the continuation. After waking from a coma, Pete discovers his hometown is filled with strange creatures, violent children, and the grown-ups are missing in Once Upon A Coma: Chapter 1.

If anyone is wondering, click in the game window and press the space bar to begin playing it.

It was too short. I wanted to find my sister.

Huh. I thought it was just his dream that was weird, but I guess life outside the dream was almost as weird. Interesting parallels though, you can see why he dreamed some of those things. Instead of inflating, the kid has a pancreatic disorder, etc. Now the main thing I want to know is if the rest of the game will cost money like Pinstripe did.

I just watched the beginning part of @Jack_Septic_Eye's video, and his version had a cool creepy intro. When do we get that?

Never mind, pretty sure Thomas Brush gave him a special version (including himself as Pete and a different bird)

I find it amazing how it not only remains parallel to the events in the first game, but also neatly ties into the narrative of "Skinny." I previously thought that the references to "Coma" found in "Skinny" were just there as easter eggs to the observant player, and finding out that they belong to the same story is absolutely delightful! It's also wonderful to see how the art became even better than it was in "Coma" and "Skinny" (and it was already great then!). Looking foward to when the whole game comes out.

Oh NOW I get it! Duh, the grownups disappeared because they're all in the System... I didn't even think of that. Thanks Jana! Now I'm looking forward to the next installments twice as much.

I'm sure, even if he's now unifying the games, when he made them they were meant to be completely separate, and the references to Coma in Skinny were just easter eggs. I don't know how those things would have gotten into the forest anyway.

Announcement! Thomas just renamed this game "Neversong." Most of the old stuff on it is still under the old name, but the Steam page and stuff changed. So Google both, I guess.
