Would someone please explain to me the investments and strategic modeling? They don't make sense to me.

Anonymous said...

It looks like investments are just an alternative revenue source. What you get out scales with how much you invest.
Strategic Modeling is playing with the Prisoner Dilemma for (unique?) resources.

Phrennch said...

But sometimes it invests automatically, making it hard to make money. Is it supposed to do that? And what's the Prisoner Dilemma?

when does it end? I have seemingly maxed out at 2+ septillion clips per second and no more upgrades are appearing.

@dlc444

just keep playing. When you harvest all the the Available Matter new upgrades are gonna pop up :)

^^edit

I just finished it. So I can tell you: there is an end ;)

Looks like this game was too popular! Looks like the site has been suspended.

Lol, that's a hoot.

It's a good design for an incremental game, and I'm glad I played it before the site went down. I found it very satisfying all around, and thought the ending was downright perfect in its closure. Occasionally I wasn't sure what to do next, but it wasn't too hard to figure out. The exploration became fun.

Thank you, Bart!

I miss it already haha hope it returns. I need to make more clips :p

Universal Paperclips achieved in 4 hours 50 minutes 9 seconds|
Played it once and that is probably enough. good enough game but not one that will be played regularly.

The server is back online for those who need to keep clicking the button.

I love how this game evolved from stage to stage. Who knew paperclips could be so exciting?

(Bert. Bert knew.)

Anybody know how to transfer the session to another browser/computer?
i exported the cookies and deleted them and i was back to 0 paperclips, but when i put the cookies back i was still on 0 paperclips

It won't let me increase the probe trust anymore even though I have plenty of Yomi. I need more to make my probe design better.. Or is 20/20 the max?

Anonymous said...

There will be a way to increase the max beyond 20. Patience.

Anonymous said...

30000.0 sexdecillion also... The gap between trust = 20 and the end is large... The gap between the new projects, once they appear, and the end is small...

This just might be the cleverest game of all time.

What patience do I need to increase maximum trust beyond 20?
Just wait patiently?
Launching many space exploration probes helps me?
I'm tired, sob sob sob...

I'm not able to find the right equlibrium amongst Speed, Exploration, Self-Replication and Hazard Remediation in order to start exploring the universe...
My trust level il 56, but i don't go anywhere!
Please an hint!!
Thanks

i focused on replication and hazard prevention? until i built up a large number of drones, then started to add combat, while upgrading the maximum trust. once you reach a certain size, exploration and speed, will cover the universe in a short time.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

My game seems to have 'stopped' all its functions. Is this meant to happen?

Unknown said...

yes anonymous, you died.
next stage is you are in the underworld and paperclips aren't useful anymore

Thank you soga3d - How do I restart?

In due time, even time will restart itself...

So I clicked on the investment engine and everything to the far left stoped:1) Paperclips are no longer being made at all. 2) Lost all of my inventory. 3) Lost the 80 plus thoudand inches of wire invested. Did I do something wrong?

Unknown said...

How do you earn Yomi? I have over 200 million clips and still no sign of any Yomi.

Hi all,

I'm wondering if someone can help me. I'm trying to write a multilayer perceptron neural network to automatically come up with an optimal strategy for the strategic modeling portion of the game. I know the developer left the game open so programmers can access it using JQuery, but I don't know how to use that to get the data I need out. What I need is an excel file with about 3,000 of the following entries:
Assume the strategic modeling game theory grid is set up as follows
A,A C,D
D,C BB
Column 1: A
Column 2: B
Column 3: C
Column 4: D
Column 5: Whatever the first place output is: Random, A100, B100, GREEDY, GENEROUS, MINIMAX, TIT FOR TAT, BEAT LAST.

If anyone can get me an excel file with this info, I will show them how to build a neural network to solve problems like this on their own. It's crazy easy.

Finally, I want to note how offended I am that I have to click a box titled, "Please prove you're not a robot" especially given the nature of this game!
