checkbox

The 21 levels of the experimental puzzler checkbox by Ty Taylor contain nothing but checkboxes.

Interesting, up until tic-tac-toe.

Nooo it needs Microsoft Silverlight!! Too bad :(

Managed to get through it, that last "run" with the monsters was tougher than I expected. Good game, despite the tic-tac-toe. ;)

Thanks for sharing this one, Bart!

Can't figure out the 7 by 7 square (level 10 or 11??), any hint ?

Anonymous said...

It was level 16 and I just needed to put a check on each line and/or column.

First!

I'm stuck on the level with four checkboxes, one that always stays there, two more that I can't click on no matter how many different ways and times I do it, and one of to the side that I checked. ???

Also, the one off to the side and one of the one I can't click keep disappearing and reappearing.

That was one of the biggest "First!" fails I've seen. Actually 6th. Anyway, GREAT game, reminds me of your Me and the Key games Bart!

Very good game, thanks, bart!

Even with Silverlight installed on this Mac, the game will not run on Firefox. I suppose I'll have to pass on playing this one.

That was an awesome game! Level 20 was epic!

Cool so far. But WTF is up with the one with the 8x8 square with all the minuses? What am I even supposed to be doing?

Anonymous said...

Not even going to waste my time trying to figure out some nonsense that can't be figured out.

Emily said...

In my last comment, I meant 21, not 20- the last level.
Anonymous @ 3:53, you are supposed to fill up the whole board with minuses. You can make checks in groups of 4, that can connect adjacently, but not diagonally. You can't change checks once you make them, and if you cut off a group of blocks that is not a multiple of four, then you will have to start over. Did that make sense? Please tell me if anything was unclear.

For mac users, it appears this game only works in Safari. Neither Chrome nor Firefox work.

re: chef:

All "first!" posts are fails.

stuck on level 10 with the 3x3 boxes. Seems like the right box is supposed to match left box, but can't figure out the pattern.

There's one in the middle of the page. I can't do anything with it?

This game was fantastic! It did work in Chrome for me, too :)

What do I do on the level with the mirror checkboxes? I can't click anything!!

Anonymous said...

Just when I think I've figured out the game... How the bleep do I get past the lake-of-death? They're *everywhere*!!!

Is there some "safe" zone off-screen?

PK said...

Won't load for me.

Tried messing with Silverlight, eventually gave up. Personally, I say if you can't do a game in Flash or HTML5, it probably wasn't supposed to be an in-browser game.

On a mac.. in Firefox.. Working fine.. ??..

Got horrifically stuck on the level where every click places or removes all checkmarks in that row/column.
No matter what, there was always two boxes that were blank, and when I tried to make them blank again, no matter what, there was two boxes that had checkmarks.
There was no restarting, and I just discovered there is no saving either.

Okay, mistake: When I said "when I tried to make them blank again," I meant the whole puzzle:

Silverlight can get Effed

Micro soft silver light just sounds like an old man's dirty parts.

Hey chefsinger, if you thought that "First!" was bad, check out Candy Room 4!

Anonymous said...

So, no suggestions for the level of 12 boxes where every click places/removes all checkmarks in the corresponding row and column?
Well that's just PERFECT!

Anonymous said...

For tic tac toe try corner then mid.

Anonymous said...

for level 10 (two 3*3) think "slider puzzle"

Anonymous said...

On the level with 3*4 that inverts row & column (12?). Try to get 2/3, again & again.

Anonymous said...

Level 17 is just "connect 4" game.

Anonymous said...

Then we have knight jumper.

Anonymous said...

Level 20 is just color it in with one line, not "Epic".

Anonymous said...

OK lv. 21 is Amazingly long.
lv. 22? O I C U R A QT 2

"On the level with 3*4 that inverts row & column (12?). Try to get 2/3, again & again."
HOW IS THAT HELPING?
IT'S NOT HELPING!!!

Anonymous said...

Just saw the last level.
Really worth it going there.
Only made it the lake of death.
Bleep this game.
