I just like the tune :)
*sings* la la la, la la la, lalala la laaa... :)

You don't need to know Japanese to figure this out. Just try to figure out why there are two characters for the number 4. Find the similarity between those to characters and the number 4. The rest is pretty straightforward.

Boy did it take me a long time to find the

bottom view on the four-panel thing.

matt w said...

Brownie, where are you stuck? I might be able to help, though I'm a grumpy old man so I'd rather you asked your questions in standard spelling.

Anonymous said...

what's the code for the wall panel?

matt w said...

I'm not sure whether the specific code varies from game to game but

If you check the signs that come down from the panel, you should see a relation between the numbers and the Japanese letters.

The number corresponding to each sign is the number of boxes the sign contains. (I can't make the Japanese signs here, but say it was #%^. The # contains 1 box, the enclosed space in the center. The % contains two boxes, the spaces enclosed by each circle. The ^ contains no boxes. So #%^ would correspond to 120.)

Hope that is helpful -- let me know if it isn't, because I realize that that was hard to explain.

so what is it with these pictures on the floor?
I thought I had it but my ideas didn't work.
I noticed that

the beginning letters matched the colors behind the picture.

Excuse me, I'll just go bang my head against the wall some more.

Anonymous said...

The last letters of the colours (reD, yelloW etc) relate to the names of the objects.
The numbers on the wall relate to the order in which you have to press the buttons on the remote control (each twice).

Chou said...

Hey !
How do you show the picture on the wall ? I'm stuck :o(
Thanks for your help!

matt w said...

Do you mean the white space in the middle of the wall? You have to solve the puzzle next to it. To do that, you have to click on the bottom of the four-panel thing and pull something out with the pliers.

If you mean the picture in the center of one wall, to show it you just have to click on the picture. ;-)

Brownie said...

hey matt w...ok this is really hard to write properly but here goes...i'm stuck at the part where the hint says those numbers are not double digits. I've got the thing out of the box on the wall though

Brownie said...

ok i've got that the numbers around the room are 1-6 but i don't know if that has anything to do with anything...

Anonymous said...

Brownie: it has to do with the buttons on the remote. The niche in one of the walls is a top-down view of the room, the location of the numbers there correspond with the location of the buttons on the remote, and the numbers (single) correspond with the order in which to press the buttons. One button corresponds with numbers 1 and 3, it has to be pressed first and third.

Brownie said...

omg, thnk u sooo much i luv u!!!!!

Anonymous said...

YAY!!!!!!!!! FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I got the combination on the wall panel by accident. Will somebody explain to me where you figure out 5220?

Brownie said...

i don't get what to do once the first door is open...

matt w said...

Anonymous -- based on the characters you got from that panel ("4204"), each character gets translated into the number of boxes it contains. Then you look at the characters on the matchbook cover, which gives you 5220.

Brownie -- unless I'm confused about how many doors there are, all you have to do is look to the side and enter the answer to the riddle you got from the hint cards. Just click where it says "password" or something like that, and type in the answer using your keyboard.

Anonymous said...

thanx matt w!

Brownie said...

Brownie said...
